Q&A ABOUT TELE-PSYCHIATRY

FAQs about our Online Mental Health Services

Here we answer common questions we receive from visitors like you about our tele-psychiatry service.

Tele-psychiatry is a branch of telemedicine that allows patients to receive psychiatric care remotely using video conferencing technology. This means you can have a virtual appointment with a mental health professional from the comfort of your own home.

Tele-psychiatry can be used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and much more.

During a tele-psychiatry session, you will connect with your mental health specialist via a secure video conferencing platform. Your appointment will be just like an in-person appointment, but conducted virtually.

Yes, tele-psychiatry is often covered by insurance. However, it's important to note that our clinic is not currently accepting insurance. But don't worry, we can provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Our goal is to provide affordable and accessible mental health care to all of our patients, and we are happy to work with you to find the best payment option for your individual needs.

All you need is a device with a camera and microphone (such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer) and a reliable internet connection. We will provide you with instructions on how to access the video conferencing platform before your appointment.

Yes, research has shown that tele-psychiatry can be just as effective as in-person visits for many mental health conditions. In fact, some patients find it more convenient and less stressful than going to an office for an appointment.

Yes, our mental health specialists can prescribe medications during a tele-psychiatry appointment if needed.

At the moment, due to the end of the Public Health Emergency and the Ryan Haight Act expiration, our tele-psychiatry clinic is unable to prescribe controlled substances remotely. However, our licensed mental health specialists can still provide a range of effective treatment options for various mental health conditions. We can work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your unique needs and health goals. Please contact us to schedule an appointment and discuss your options.

You can schedule a tele-psychiatry appointment through our website or by calling our clinic. We will work with you to find a convenient time for your virtual appointment.

If you experience technical difficulties during your appointment, our support team is available to help you troubleshoot the issue. If we are unable to resolve the issue, we can reschedule your appointment for a later time

Yes, our tele-psychiatry clinic allows patients to choose the mental health specialist they would like to work with. We have a team of experienced and licensed providers who specialize in treating a range of mental health disorders, and patients can select who they feel most comfortable working with. We also offer the option to switch providers if needed.

Research has shown that tele-psychiatry can be just as effective as in-person visits for treating a range of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry found that tele-psychiatry was effective in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety in patients. Another study in the Journal of Medical Internet Research found that tele-psychiatry was just as effective as in-person visits for treating PTSD in veterans. Overall, tele-psychiatry has a high success rate for treating mental health disorders. Therapy is strongly recommended in conjunction with medication management. At this time we do not offer stand alone therapy services, however, we do incorporate individualized therapeutic interventions alongside medication management during our sessions to enhance lifestyle and behavioral modifications to help our patients achieve their mental health goals.

Currently we are treating patients located in California.
