RECOVERY WITH MEDICINE BEHIND YOU

Addiction is not a character flaw — it's a brain disease with evidence-based medical treatment. LUMUS offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol use disorder, supervised by Dr. Michael Garcia, M.D. — a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized training in addiction medicine.

MEDICATIONS WE PROVIDE

Buprenorphine / Suboxone

FDA-approved medication for opioid use disorder (OUD). Reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms, allowing patients to stabilize and rebuild. Available in-office and via telehealth for eligible patients.

Naltrexone (Vivitrol)

An opioid antagonist that blocks the euphoric effects of opioids and alcohol. Available as a monthly injection or daily oral tablet. Appropriate for patients who have completed detox.

Ketamine & Addiction

Emerging clinical evidence supports ketamine therapy as an adjunct treatment for alcohol use disorder and certain substance dependencies — reducing cravings and addressing the underlying depression and trauma that often drive addictive behavior.

WHY PSYCHIATRIC-LED MAT MATTERS

Addiction and mental health conditions are deeply interconnected. Most patients with substance use disorders also struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or trauma — conditions that standard addiction programs often don't adequately address.

At LUMUS, MAT is delivered by a board-certified psychiatrist who can simultaneously address the psychiatric conditions driving addictive behavior. This integrated approach — treating both the addiction and the underlying mental health — produces more durable outcomes than medication alone.

Recovery is possible. Let's talk.
